We made it to May! As the school year wraps up, IAStuCo is preparing for a fantastic summer full of events and leadership opportunities:
- Advisor’s Conference & Banquet Recap: We celebrated our seniors and installed new state and district officers! Guest speaker Sandy Ginger wowed attendees with activity ideas, and student officers revealed next year’s state project, “Click Carefully, Connect Confidently”.
- Iowa Leadership Training Camp (ILTC 2025):
- Dates & Location: June 9–12, 2025, at Grand View University in Des Moines.
- Theme: “Roll the Dice – It’s Your Turn to Lead”.
- Registration: $400/camper (grant applications are available to help offset costs).
- VISION 2025 National Conference: Over 60 Iowans are set to attend in Oklahoma City from June 27–29. Email gilek@oskycsd.org if your group is attending so custom state shirts can be ordered.
- Important Deadlines:
- Administrator of the Year Nominations: Submissions due June 15, 2025.
- Honor Council Portfolios: Electronic or scrapbook submissions due June 15, 2025.
- Upcoming Fall Preview:
- Free New Advisor Workshop: August 11, 2025, in Clive (for advisors with 0–3 years of experience).
Advisory Board Updates: Welcome to our newest board member, Shawn Ferry (Sioux City East)! Applications are open for an upcoming vacancy following a retirement after June 30.
